Hi - My name is Mark Sheridan. I live near Sevenoaks in the UK and am a prolific international open water ultra-distance swimmer. I am a member of the exclusive 24 hour club, have completed the Triple Crown, the California Triple Crown, 4 of the Stillwater 8 and 2 of the Toughest 13. My achievements include 43 mile Lac Leman (4th solo ever & 1st Brit), Lake Ontario (1st British male), Lake Taupo (1st Brit), Beltquerung (1st Brit), EC solo (3x), Loch Lomond (44th person), Catalina Channel, Two-way Windermere, Lake Tahoe (British record holder), SCAR (1st Brit), End Wet (1st Brit), Lake Zurich, Round Manhattan, Lake Memphremagog (1st Brit), Vidosternsimmet, RTAI (First Brit) and the Santa Barbara Channel. I was awarded the BLDSA's Swimmer of the Year in 2013 and won the MSF's Barra Award for Best Year in 2015. This blog is intended to document my open water swim journey which in turn might help other swimmers reach their goals. My swimming endeavours have generated over £100k for charities over the years
